- ➤ Judge Paul K. Richardson denied Deputy Public Defender Roberto Villa’s request to release a mentally incompetent man who was held for 54 days on a misdemeanor charge—he sided with Deputy District Attorney Farouq Ghazzawi’s public safety concerns. - ➤ The recipients of the 2024-25 Chancellor’s Achievement Awards for Diversity and Community were honored last week—each recognized for deepening campus ties—and Chancellor Gary S. May thanked them for their ongoing work to build an inclusive UC Davis community. UC Davis
- ➤ Tech Foundry, formerly TEAM Lab and run by UC Davis’ Biomedical Engineering department, is opening a new 7,500 square-foot space at Aggie Square to support custom research projects using 3D printing and CNC machines. - ➤ Researchers from UC Davis and colleagues merged data from iNaturalist and eBird to confirm that citizen science reliably captured seasonal bird migration patterns in Northern California and Nevada.
