BUSINESS NEWS

  • Downtown Yoloberry Yogurt was named Best Dessert in the 2026 Best of Davis and offers fully customizable frozen yogurt with 101 toppings. A new campus location at the Silo (with Acai Fresh serving custom acai bowls) will hold its grand opening on May 7.  The California Aggie
  • During spring, The Davis Collection expanded on Russell Boulevard with the openings of Fluffy Fluffy Dessert Cafe, Good Friends Hawaiian Poke, and Cold Stone Creamery (now one of over 15 shops in a walkable, landscaped center that benefits students and residents).  The California Aggie
  • Good Friends Hawaiian Poke in downtown Davis was voted best restaurant by UC Davis students for its fresh poke bowls, wraps, and inviting service. The restaurant (owned by Monica Dui) opened a second location at The Davis Collection after first opening in 2019.  The California Aggie
  • Ike's Love & Sandwiches on F Street offers a student discount from 3 to 9 p.m. that drops sandwich prices to about $9.89 and includes a loyalty program with extra rewards like half-off sandwiches on birthdays; students must show a valid ID to qualify.  The California Aggie

CULTURE NEWS

  • Richard Jia and Gray Eby, co-creators of @mydaviscalifornia, have been named the best Davis-specific Instagram account for the second year in a row. They showcase local spots from downtown eateries to campus hangouts and plan to keep sharing fresh Davis discoveries.  The California Aggie

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UC Davis has updated its digital content as required by ADA Title II before the April 24 deadline, with faculty and staff adjusting course materials for improved accessibility. The campus offers training sessions and biweekly meetings (through an IT committee) to support a broader cultural shift.  The California Aggie

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • UC Davis Transportation Services and the Police Department launched a month-long Safety Corridors pilot program in April that placed two-person teams along campus paths every Thursday to remind riders to keep a 15 mph speed limit and yield to pedestrians (an effort to curb rising e-scooter and e-bike accidents).  The California Aggie

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Latitude Restaurant is now UC Davis’ most popular dining hall, serving 4,000 meals daily with international dishes made from local Sacramento produce and overseas imports. Chef Mathew Reeves and his team plan to introduce new recipes as early as this summer.  The California Aggie
