- ➤ Today, a UC Davis study published in Science shows that 7% to 16% of the global plant species studied risk losing over 90% of their range by 2100 due to climate change, which may be curbed by lowering emissions and protecting remaining habitats (including ancient species like California spikemoss). - ➤ A UC Davis study finds that fuel treatments like thinning and prescribed burns saved $2.8 billion in wildfire losses by reducing spread in nearly 300 fires from 2017 to 2023 — each dollar spent avoided $3.75 in damages. UC Davis
