The Yolo County Homeless and Poverty Action Coalition and local partners released the 2026 Point-in-Time Homeless Count findings today, showing urgent housing and service gaps in Davis+ officials plan coordinated actions to support those in need.
Yolo County officials responded to the 2026 Point-in-Time Homeless Count report from Jan.
27, which recorded 912 individuals homeless countywide (including 194 in Davis). They stressed the modest drop does not signal a lasting improvement and said outreach and housing support will continue.
PETA released a report on Wednesday finding drug-resistant Shigella prevalent in monkey labs, including at the California National Primate Research Center at UC Davis.
The group urged the CDC to improve oversight + lawmakers are considering a ban on monkey importation to protect workers and public health.
