The Vanguard, a nonprofit newsroom in Davis, is asking for donations (targeting $15,000) to cover delayed payroll as it investigates wrongful convictions and housing injustice.

Founder David Greenwald said donations are critical (staff unpaid) to keep their work on accountability journalism running.
