Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 12th of June.
Good morning, Davis.
🏘️ Community
More than 350 pro-immigrant demonstrators—including families, unions, and groups—marched through Davis this week on their way to the Capitol after a three-day protest across Solano, Yolo and Sacramento counties.
🎓 Education
A University of California, Davis study found that toddlers who looked closely at two images at age 2 were later better able to tell if their memories were correct at age 3, using eye tracking to measure their looks.
The study, published June 11 in Nature Communications, shows that early practice in comparing choices can help build the skill of knowing when a memory is right — a basic part of learning and making decisions.
🌲 Environment
UC Davis will soon offer small-batch wines made by students, staff, and faculty from grapes grown on campus—marking the first time its wines are available for public purchase.
