UC Davis researchers found nearly 9 in 10 products labeled as made with avocado oil contain cheaper oils, which means consumers may be paying for purity without getting it.
They purchased samples in 2025 & 2026 from online retailers and local stores.
UC Davis scientists revealed the structure of kinesin-1, a motor protein vital for nerve cells, in a study published July 15 in Science Advances.
The work shows how the protein folds to remain locked until activated — a discovery that may guide new treatments for neurodegenerative diseases.
