5 after a two-member panel of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation reviewed his case.
On Aug. 5, Sen. Schiff joined UC Davis researchers at Lake Tahoe to check the lake's clarity and review the aging research vessel John LeConte (a TERC lab).
The trip helped gather key data on the lake's health for future policy decisions while officials plan to seek new funding for a replacement vessel next year.
