Scientists at UC Davis and UCSF finished a trial of a new drug that helped control mouth cancer in 35% of pet cats with few side effects — the study shows promise for treating head and neck cancer in people.
The researchers will work with a biotech company to begin more clinical trials for both pets and humans.
A new study at UC Davis is using total-body PET imaging to better understand long COVID, and patients will be scanned at baseline, after four months, and after eight months—funded by a $3.2 million NIH grant.
Assistant project scientist Negar Omidvari will also check blood samples for inflammation markers to link immune cell activity to blood vessel damage.
