- ➤ Today, UC Davis starts its 2025 wine-grape harvest as students and researchers work in vineyards and labs to produce student-made wines and test new methods for drought-resistant and disease-free grapes—Hilgard631 sales will fund student scholarships. UC Davis
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A UC Davis study shows that warming and extra nutrients from runoff will change the fuzzy algae on Lake Tahoe rocks in different seasons. Lab tests revealed that algae grow faster with slight winter warming and more nutrients in the fall—these findings may guide lake managers in planning for future water quality issues. UC Davis

- ➤ The California Office of Emergency Services will visit West Quad on Oct. 13 with its shake trailer to simulate a 7.0 earthquake and promote campus safety before the drill on Oct. 16 at 10:16 a.m.—Chancellor Gary S. May will join later that morning to learn more about the test. UC Davis
