- ➤ A UC Davis team has partnered with Proteus Space to launch a satellite carrying the first digital twin of a battery that uses machine learning to predict performance issues in orbit. - ➤ UC Davis tied for number 9 in the U.S. News and World Report rankings released on Sept. 23, marking its fifth consecutive year in the top 10 among public universities. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Cooler air and less sunshine in Davis can make it harder to sleep well because our body clocks get thrown off. A UC Davis professor is studying flies to learn how light and temperature affect sleep so that better treatments for sleep problems can be made. The California Aggie
- ➤ A multi-institution research team led by Virginia Tech and including UC Davis received a federal contract for up to $40 million to develop a smart building system that uses biosensors to monitor and improve indoor air quality. The project, called BRAVE—designed to cut respiratory illnesses by 25 percent—will first test the system in daycare centers before expanding to offices, classrooms, and other public spaces. UC Davis

- ➤ The UC Davis Aggies hosted Weber State on Sept. 27 and won 34-12 to improve to a 3-1 start. The win was fueled by key plays from quarterback Caden Pinnick and receiver Samuel Gbatu Jr. The California Aggie
- ➤ On Sept. 28, the Marya Welch Tennis Center hosted its 17th Aggie Pro-Am tennis tournament where over 120 alumni, sponsors and fans joined doubles matches with pro and amateur players to raise funds for both teams.
