EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Declining school enrollment in Davis is linked to Measure J, which has limited family housing and reduced households that support local schools. The planned Village Farms project (1,800-unit development) is expected to add about 701 students and help stabilize enrollment and community balance. Davis Vanguard
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tree Davis appointed Yael Franco as its Executive Director effective September. The certified arborist and Davis native plans to replace every lost tree by leading community planting events scheduled from October through April—aiming to maintain a 95 percent success rate. Davis Vanguard

- ➤ The City of Davis released the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Willowgrove Project — a plan to change 232 acres of farmland into a mixed-use community with 1,250 homes, shops and park space.
