- ➤ Engineers at UC Davis invented a device that uses a small temperature difference between the warm ground and the cold of space to generate mechanical power at night. - ➤ A study published in Science Advances by UCLA and UC Davis researchers on Nov. 12 found that every inch drop in annual rainfall increased wildlife conflicts by 2—3% as drought drives carnivores like bobcats, coyotes, mountain lions, and black bears closer to homes.
