EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Melissa Segura, the first in her family to earn a four-year degree, will graduate on Saturday at Fall Commencement on campus. Her achievement is celebrated as a birthday gift to her parents + marks the end of a challenging academic journey at UC Davis. UC Davis
- ➤ Research led by UC Davis professor Jae Yong Suk shows that indoor lighting colors can change emotional responses to music. Tests found that warm white lighting fits happy music and blue suits sad tunes—a result that may shape design in local performance spaces. UC Davis
- ➤ Campus dining, library, transit, and administrative services have adjusted hours ahead of winter break with most locations closing from Dec. 12 and reopening on Jan. 5; select options, like the 24-Hour Study Room and finals coffee deals, remain open while transportation & office services operate on limited schedules.
