Jonna Mazet retires at the end of this year from UC Davis after four decades of advancing global health and conservation through innovative cross-discipline projects (including the One Health Institute).

UC Davis has joined the inaugural class of California universities now recognized as Black-Serving Institutions under a state initiative that honors schools excelling in academic support.

The designation affirms its commitment to serving Black students in the community.

In 2025, UC Davis marked major milestones with breakthroughs in climate change, urban wildlife + conservation, and regenerative medicine that resonate beyond campus.

On Dec. 1, UC Davis announced that Distinguished Professor Zhi Ding received the 2025-2026 Teaching Prize for his work in wireless communications & classroom mentorship.
