ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ UC Davis forest ecologists found that fuel treatment techniques — including mechanical hand-thinning and mastication over several years — tripled tree survival during the 2021 Caldor Fire. The study also showed that unburned fuel piles increased fire severity, emphasizing the need to remove excess fuels before future wildfires. UC Davis
